Sept 27th : Arrive in Sapa.
 |
My Boutique Hotel to Sapa Town on local taxi (50000dongs) |
Sapa stands at the head of a deep valley of magnificent rice terraces that are still farmed today as they have been for centuries.
Backdrops dont get any more spectacular !
All paths leads down to the valley floor, white-water rivers rush among rice fields and lush green mountains stretch into the distance as far as the eye can see.
The highest peak, Mt Fansipan crowns the ragged ridge line high above town.
Sapa is a town in the Hoang Lien Son Mountains of North Western Vietnam. It is a popular trekking base for tourists.
Hill tribes such as Hmong, Tay and Dao makes up much of the town's local population.
Sept 27th , we spent our day relaxing around walking around Sapa town , being a tourist. But of course, we needed our daily dose of caffeine !!

Sapa St Joseph Cathedral |
Sapa church ( Catholic church with a stone bell tower ) is considered the most attractive place for sight seeing in Sapa. Located in the center of Sapa town, the old church was built in the 20th Century by the French colonizers. It is also known as the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary and become a suitable location for traditional cultural practises of ethnic minority groups.
Because of natural destruction, the church has undergone reconstruction and renovation more than 5 times.

more shopping.... |

and we stumbled upon this amazing shop....super cheap ! |
Immediately, it became our favorite shop for adventure gear...from socks to shoes to adventure gear of branded labels !!! Spent many hours here...... stuff are not displayed nicely as in other shops, so we have to dig in and find ourselves..... guess its worth it when you can get half the price as compared to other shops..... This "wholesaler" shop turned out to be a Homestay as well .........at only 300000 dongs per night for a double. ( very comfortable spacious room, ensuite )
Next to Yummy Restaurant, is another little eatery named Good Morning View Restaurant.....also recommended. Decided to have dinner there....
and back to our comfortable hotel for a good rest before tomorrow, a day out to Cat Cat Village .
